Our group is focusing on a modified Histidine-Tryptophan-Ketoglutarate (HTK) solution, named HTK-N, which composition differs from standard HTK: HTK-N carries larger antioxidative capacity and provides inherent toxicity as well as improved tolerance at low temperature to better ameliorate cold storage injury. The amino acids glycine, alanine and arginine were supplemented, N-acetyl-histidine partially replaced histidine, and aspartate and lactobionate substituted chloride.
