Prof. Dr. med. Christian Ertmer

Priv.-Doz. Dr. Ertmer studied medicine at the University of Münster from 1999-2005.

He started his residency at the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine in 2006 and graduated as a specialist in anesthesiology and in emergency medicine in 2011.

The graduation in intensive care medicine followed in 2013.

Since 2013 he is a senior staff member of the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine and works primarily in intensive care medicine.

Since 2002 Priv.-Doz. Dr. Ertmer is a member of the research group “Sepsis and multiple organ failure”, where he works on fluid therapy, vasopressin analogues and adrenergic receptor modulation in septic shock.

His first data were published in 2002 and multiple book chapters, lectures and Medline-listed publications followed.

In 2006 he graduated as doctor medicinae and received his venia legendi for anesthesiology and intensive care in 2012.

In 2019 he was appointed Professor.
